Most of the screen based wallets, even the btc only ones, has firmware update, isn't that a flaw? where you are trusting the manufacturer. Malware risks are always there, whether you use a mobile based or computer based wallet supporting softwares. Simply scanning with nfc scanning devices can't extract your coins as it needs access code. Basically the screen based devices has a real screen on it and the card based wallets just uses phone as a screen, thats it.

If your device asks you to update without being connected to the desktop software which is where you click to update it than it might be a problem. Click the link on the Trezor Suite software to update your wallet and than confirm on the device. I have had trezor connected to my PC and without starting Trezor suite it went into bootloader and wanted an update. I ignored it and reset it with Trezor suite which did not want to update my device and verified that I had the latest update. I was always curious about what was going on.
